Tracksmith (top) uses product photos in their navigation to help visitors quickly visualize each product category. Images make menus much easier to understand while also providing a more engaging experience that influences exploration.
Huckberry (bottom) has a much larger inventory, making it difficult to visualize each product category. Instead, they list each product sub-category under a parent category (in bold text). Grouping their product categories makes it easy for visitors to drill down to exactly what they were looking for. Huckberry also uses the empty space (to the right of the category lists) to include a section for "trending" products and an accompanying visual that makes the entire experience more interesting.
